Performances
Ah, how passions change! After years of the seemingly endless pursuit that makes up the life of a freelance artist, I’ve decided to shift my priorities. Keeping a small studio of high school and adult vocalists and the growth of my work in ministry provides a full plate of experiences that I love. My vocal endeavors, moving forward, will be selected based on a desire for a pleasurable/memorable experience, not necessity. I’ve learned how to say “No”…and it only took me 30 years!
Performance Calendar Update!
June 14-16 , 2023: Artist participant in UMKC-Spire Choral Conducting Institute.
August 25-27, 2023: AT LAST!!! I will be joining John Hardesty on piano, Julia Laskowski, soprano, and cellist Max Dyer for a performance of John’s original music. It will be performed at the Quality Hill Playhouse. Further details to come…tickets will be available through QHP.
October 6-7, 2023: Again I will join with Ben Spalding and Spire Chamber Ensemble for two performances of Considering Matthew Shepherd. More information on tickets/locations can be found by visiting www.spirechamberensemble.org.
December 18-19, 2023: It wouldn’t be Christmas without a performance of Handel’s Messiah with Spire Chamber Ensemble with Ben Spalding, conductor. The first concert will be at the Kauffman Center in Kansas City and the second at Grace Cathedral in Topeka, Kansas.
Speaking Engagements/ Upcoming Note-Worthy Events
As of August 1, 2020, Revs. David Adams and Warren Teachout are the Senior Co-Ministers at Unity of Independence in Independence, MO. All services are being held online via Zoom at this time- for more information or to access archival services, visit the church website at www.unityindependence.com.
July 15-23, 2023: Rev. Warren and I will be traveling to Ferry Beach, Maine to serve as guest speakers for the annual GAYLA Retreat. For more information, visit ferrybeach.org/gayla.
Recording project(s): One completed, one delayed but still underway!
I am working with the incredible pianist/composer John Hardesty on a solo recording of his works. John’s compositional style and emotionally-charged skills at the piano leave audiences breathless and wanting more! It will be available on a variety of online outlets.
The release date remains TBD, but the recording itself (IMHO) will be worthy of the wait. UPDATE: As always… All I can say is stay tuned!
